VALE | Cliff Joseph
It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of Cliff Joseph, a cherished longstanding member of Seacliff Surf Life Saving Club and founding member of our Silver Salties. Cliff passed away peacefully at home on 1 July, with his partner Marianne and daughter Rachel by his side.
In his hay day, Cliff was an outstanding competitor in State and National Life Saving Championships, proudly earning numerous gold and silver medals throughout his career. Up until last year, he dedicated himself as a timekeeper for the weekly Club Surf Race alongside his mate, Ken Bell, he remained an active Silver Salty, having recently been inducted into the ‘200 Club’ for attending over 200 sessions in five years.
Just weeks before his passing, Cliff was honoured with a Gold Award in recognition of his long and devoted service to the club. His encouragement, steady presence, sense of humour, and warm smile will be greatly missed.
Cliff treasured his weekly gatherings with friends and took great joy in watching his daughter Rachel and grandsons Thomas and Alfred compete and medal in various events since their return from the UK.
Our sincere condolences and thoughts are with Marianne, Rachel, Grant and their families. A heartfelt thanks go to everyone who has offered love and support to Cliff’s family and friends at this time.
Rest in peace Cliffy – until we meet again.
