Glen Patten attended a meeting of Noarlunga East Rotary on 13 Feb and gave a talk about the wonderful community programs that we run at Seacliff SLSC.
They were particular impressed with the “Access for All Mat” that allowed for wheelchair beach access. I further announced that we had just rolled out our latest program with the Suneden Special School where about 10 students ventured onto the beach, many for the first time, via the Commando 4wd and even into the water via the water wheel chair. SLSSA will provide a special instructor as of next week. Thanks to Greg Smyth for helping to get this program off the ground on the day. Club volunteers can help out 10-11-30 am for the following eight Tuesdays.
Glen then gave a demonstration of DRSABCD on a mannequin with an old AED (Automatic External Defibrillator).
A Rotary club member, Graham, then presented me with a cheque for $1500! The money will go towards the purchase of 2 new training AEDs and an Oxy/Defib pack for transport in the 4wd.
A huge thank you to the Noarlunga East Rotary club for their wonderful support.
