My involvement with Seacliff SLSC began as a parent. When my children moved on to senior ranks and with changes in family circumstances I made the decision at a mature age to try for my bronze. A decision I have never regretted. Since then I have competed in many areas, participated in the weekly surf races and been a regular patrolling member.
Apart from the beach side of the club there has been helping out with Friday night kitchen and bar duties, cleaning the downstairs loos and even a stint on the management committee.
For me involvement with the club with its great family and friendly atmosphere was literally a ‘life saver’ at a time in my life when I really needed it. Any involvement has been paid back many times over with some wonderful memories, a lot of fun, some tears, a sense of community, and best of all the wonderful and lifelong friends I have made.
I have always been proud to be a member of Seacliff and part of the Life Saving community overall. With the fantastic new clubrooms and a bright future I look forward to a new era of continued involvement with OUR CLUB.
