Well done to our Seniors and Masters competitors that were out representing the club the last few weeks. The training paid off with Seniors taking first place again!! This is the third time in a row that the Seniors team won the state title. Now its time for juniors to take center stage !!!
Junior States Championships – Days 2 and 3
The big show (days 2 and 3 of Junior State Championships) is this weekend, 18 & 19 March. This will be hosted by Port Noarlunga SLSC.
Saturday 18 March – This will be predominately individual events + march past.
- Please be at The Club tent for 7:45am for a team photo
- Warm up between 7:55am – 8:10am
- March Past starts at 8:15am (those age groups in the water first will do a water warm up before the first event)
- First events from 9:00am
Sunday 19 March – This will be predominately team based events. In addition there is the All age relay and the taplin. These 2 events will be held at the beginning of the day with the all age relay at 8:00 and taplin at 8:40. These are great spectator events, so make sure you get to beach in the plenty of time to watch the clubs compete against each other in all age events!
- For those competing in the All Age Relay and/or Taplin, please be at The Club tent for 7:30am for a warm up
- All Age Beach Relay starts at 8:00am
- Junior Taplin Relay starts at 8:40am
- First events from 9:15am (Under 8s not involved in All Age Beach Relay or Taplin don’t start until 11:30am)
Both Saturday and Sunday programs are subject to change. please keep an eye on TeamUp HERE.
WATERCOVER AND OFFICIALS & OTHER VOLUNTEERS
Thank-you to everyone that has supported the carnivals as officials, water cover, photographers, set-up, pack-up and supporting in any other way. We need ALL hands on deck for the these two days. The more people we have involved the better, and means we can switch people in and out, giving everyone a chance to see their kids compete. EVERYONE will be asked to help based on the roles provided in the registration.
An email will be sent out explaining roles, times, locations etc for all the volunteers. You will be asked to confirm the details, and its important you reply so we know if we have any issues before the weekend.
Junior State Championships – Celebrations 19 March
We will be hosting nippers and families back at the club on the 19th to celebrate everyone’s achievements. Even if your child is not competing, we encourage you to come down and enjoy the fun. This is also a time to reflect on what went well and what we could do better next year, while its fresh in peoples heads. So the committee will also be looking to get feedback that we can take forward into the next season.
Junior Training – Updates
Board training will be cancelled this Friday, 17 March and next Tuesday 21 March.
Sprint training will be on this Thursday, 18 March. There will be focus for those involved in the All Age Beach Relay
Surf swim training will be cancelled this Friday, 17 March
Pool training will continue as per the current schedule
End of Season Presentations
The date and location for the end of year presentations is still being worked on. As soon as details are finalised they will be published here and also emailed out to parents.
