Third Surf SA State Carnival – Normanville
The Third Surf SA state run carnival is next Sunday (12th Feb) . The host club will now be Normanville SLSC.
Please ensure your child is registered through the event found HERE. This ensures we know which nippers are attending and who needs to be entered into the carnival. If you have any questions please reach out your AGL.
As with the last carnival we need parents to help on the day of the carnival, and each family will need to advise what role they can play. We really do need more officials and water cover !!
- Officials – You only need to do an online course initially and no experience is required. Having more officials means we can rotate people throughout the day. If you want to know more please email Janelle (janelle.scrivener@gmail.com)
- Water Cover – If you have a bronze or SRC award, please consider putting your hand up to help. Again, the more we have the more we can rotate people. If you can help, please contact Arran (arranj.mcmillan@gmail.com)

PLEASE NOTE – ORDERS WILL CLOSE 8 FEBRUARY
Club Champs- This Weekend
What is Club Champs?
SSLSC annually conducts Junior Club Championships. These are run as two (2) mini-Carnivals during the season as part of regular Saturday Training. The Junior Club Championships see Nippers involved in friendly competition against members of their own age-group and gender.
Points are awarded to place getters in each event and ribbons are presented at the conclusion of the day. Ribbons will be presented back at the club, as we have one of our major sponsors, Weekend Surf there to give out some prizes!
When and where is it?
> This second Club Champs is this Saturday 4 February.
> Nippers should arrive on the beach in front of the patrol tower as with any other Saturday training session
> To accommodate the schedule please arrive no later than 1300 as events kick off at the earlier time of 1330
What else do I need to know?
To determine the overall 2022/23 Junior Club Champions (both male and female) for each age group, each Nipper’s accumulated points from the Club Championships are added to an additional one (1) point per Junior Carnival attended. However, to be eligible for a Club end of season award, Nipper’s must attend at least 70% of Saturday Trainings over the season.
At the end of the season, trophies are awarded at the Junior Club Presentation for each age group and gender.
