My Dream Came True

My name is Dallas and I have been in a wheelchair now for the last 12 years. On the 14thMarch 09 & the Summer of 2010, I finally went for a swim in the ocean. The last time I went for a swim in the ocean I was in my early teens, I am now 31. It was really an amazing experience to swim in the ocean again. The waves were crashing on top of me but I didn’t really care because I was having too much fun. I loved the support of Sue, Glen & Steve and the other lifesavers. I felt really safe being out there with them. I have always loved the water but lately have not been able to get near it. Sue, Glen, Steve and the other lifesavers from the Seacliff Surf life Saving Club helped make my dream come true. I want to thank them all and I would love to do it again. I will continue coming down to the club for dinner with my family and friends and look forward to soon working out when we can do the swim again! Thank-you for making me an honorary member of the Seacliff Surf Life Saving Club – I can’t wait to spend more time down there with everyone.
